"Dufour says Lafitte still has its hideaways — little coves, bays and corners where one can duck in and hide from March’s unrelenting winds."
"NEW ORLEANS – Pro Todd Dufour of Marrero, La. caught a three-day total of six redfish weighing 45 pounds, 12 ounces Saturday to share the lead on day three of the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Open held in conjunction with the Southern Sportsman’s Expo in the Louisiana Superdome this week. Pros competing in the historic tournament, which features the sport’s first pro/co-angler format, are fishing for as much as $50,000 while co-anglers are casting for a top award of $5,000."
"NEW ORLEANS – Heading into day two of competition at the 2008 Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Open, pro Todd Dufour of Marrero, La., simply hoped he could duplicate his 14-pound, 14-ounce day-one effort. Well, in the end, he did much more than that."
"Dufour leads Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Open in New Orleans- “Today was a lot of luck,” Dufour said. “My two best reds came around noon and were over 8 pounds. The competition is so close with everyone catching around 14 to 15 pounds that I couldn’t believe that we had over 16. The fish are starting to show up, so I think the next two days are going to be interesting.”
"The team of Todd DuFour (left) and Alden Bourgeois (right) used a 16-pound, 4-ounce catch to grab the overall lead during the first day of competition at the FLW Redfish Series event at Cocodrie, La. Photo by Gary Mortenson- “I guide in Lafitte so I’m pretty familiar with that area. We decided that it didn’t make sense to fish (locally) or the Venice area when we know Lafitte so well,” said DuFour. “Today, our fish really moved in and starting feeding on sardines. We weren’t targeting any schools, just lots of isolated, individual fish. We did a lot of sight-fishing.”
FLW Redfish Open, Day 2: Dufour Whacks 16, Takes Over Top Spot
""We mostly looked for grass beds and clear water," he said. "I actually have some better fish in dirty water, but those fish just wouldn't bite. So, at least for today, finding clear water was very important."
FLW Redfish Series Cocodrie: DuFour-Bourgeois Have 2-Ounce Lead
"DuFour and Bourgeois ran more than 2 hours towards Lafitte, and initially it looked like a bad decision. "Things started out kind of slow (yesterday) morning," DuFour said, "but ended with a bang (that) afternoon. We caught our two fish we weighed in the last 2 hours of fishing time before we had to make the long run back.
"We were running and gunning, hitting a number of spots throughout the day. We were trying to catch one good solid keeper and search for a big kicker fish the rest of the afternoon."
